I started this because my workdays were uncomfortable.

I have worked in offices my whole adult life. Open-plan floors, meeting rooms that run warm by eleven, the train in, the train home. Somewhere along the way I noticed that most of the small discomforts of a working day were not about the job at all. They were about what I was wearing under my clothes.

A shirt that went dark at the underarms before the first meeting. Boxers that clung by the time I sat down at my desk. The jacket kept on in a warm room, the shifting in the chair, the sitting very still. None of it was dramatic. All of it was there, every day, quietly taking up attention that should have gone elsewhere.

I looked for products that solved these things properly and found two kinds. Big brands selling ordinary basics with comfort words on the label, and specialist brands selling the right idea with the wrong tone, all bulge and bravado. Neither was built for a man who sits at a desk, takes the train and wants to stop thinking about it.

So I started Reist. Not to reinvent the wardrobe, just to fix the layer nobody sees.

What we make

We make a small number of essentials, each built around one specific problem. The Dry Layer is an undershirt with a second layer of fabric under each arm, so the sweat stops at a shirt nobody sees. The Cool Layer is a mesh boxer brief in ice-silk nylon, so heat and moisture have a way out instead of sitting there all afternoon. That is the whole range for now. When we add something, it will be because it solves a problem we have felt ourselves.

How we work

Reist is a small studio in Oslo. We do not run a factory and we do not pretend to. We find the fabrics and constructions that solve a specific problem, wear them through real working weeks before we sell them, and drop anything that does not hold up. We do not invent reviews, we do not put a fake price with a line through it, and we do not tell you a garment is antibacterial or three degrees cooler unless someone has measured it.

The name

Reist is Norwegian. It means travelled. Past tense. You have done the hard part already. What you wear to work should make the rest of the day easier, not harder.

If something we sold you does not do that, tell us within 30 days and we will refund you.
